2012 first harvest

Copeland Vineyard
Picking Sauv Blanc and Rousanne most likely middle of this week. “Patrick Rawn”

Chandler Reach Vineyard
CRV is looking at picking Merlot around the 16th. Syrah also is looking good. Across the board yields appear to be back to normal. Throughout the growing season we experienced great weather and cluster weights seem to be above average!
Traditionally we have started harvest September 13…so we are close. The picture is Sangiovese grown close to the tasting room!
“Len Parris”

Paradisos del Sol
First harvest for Paradisos del Sol is typically Sept. 20.  Temperanillo is first.  We use it in our Rose and our Paradisos Red.  The vineyard is looking fabulous and we expect a good vintage if our weather stays normal.  “Barbara Sherman”

Tefft Cellars
We are in harvest prep mode here at Tefft Cellars. Cleaning and testing the crush equipment. Vineyards are looking good. We are dropping the second crop and doing bird patrol. The Syrah is at 21 Brix, so we will be picking soon. On the fun side, we received our fresh huckleberries this week and have started a new batch of Starboard. “Jon Zimmermann”

Terra Blanca Winery
Ripeness, “Keith Pilgrim”

Thurston Wolfe Winery
Thurston Wolfe will do its first extensive sampling on 9/10. Have been doing last minute bottling and racking of 2011 reds in preparation for harvest. “Wade Wolfe”

Wilridge Winery & Vineyard
Zweigelt will be the first red picked at Wilridge Vineyard on Naches Heights.  It’s at 18 brix now and the birds are starting to get interested in it – which is a good sign that harvest is about to start.  We will net the entire vineyard next week.  “Paul Beveridge”
