August 14th observations from the Naches Heights! We see signs of veraison in all of the grapes with some color appearing in Syrah and Tempranillo. This is our first relatively normal year since 2009. We still see the affects of the 2010 freeze in some varietals but with a normal winter we should be back to full strength next vintage. We are starting to reduce water in the vineyards at this time and will continue to do so throughout the month. Our crop size is good and we will start next week reducing crop in areas that need it. Overall we are very excitied about the upcoming harvest and the quality of the fruit. Wish us luck till harvest. Cheers! Phil ~ Naches Heights Vineyard.
